Capcom's got a serious plumbing problem, I can't believe everything was kept so quiet until yesterday considering how stuff is just pouring out now.

I've generally not been down with all the negativity being thrown at this game (though I don't think it looks especially good) but man, having the player fuck up constantly is really not how you give a good first impression of the combat. I almost closed the video after the fourth homing attack on a clearly invincible enemy.

Damn, what a leak. This roster looks super interesting! Redesigns look excellent pretty much across the board and the new characters are definitely intriguing.

One thing to note is that most of these games were current gen exclusive (Eternights and Stray as the exceptions?). Looks like PS4's finally being left behind.

This is a cool point and actually really exciting! It's understandable because of how much COVID messed things up but it's a pretty blargh feeling being 1.5 years into the generation and it still not feeling like it's even really begun.

Seeing all the disinterest towards the battle system is so funny to me because I've never been more excited for the potential a Final Fantasy's combat. Though I guess in fairness FF7R ended up great, but I didn't really expect that one.

Legit stunned that Spider-Man is coming to PC. It wasn't on the Nvidia leak so I just assumed it was a hard no for legal reasons. Can't wait to play it!

Expecting nothing since that seems to be the way to go with these, but man I'd flip my lid to finally see a substantial look at FF16.

Topic title is straight up wrong but yeah this is very much a mobile game with extremely typical mobile game monetization.

Now that Returnal was spotted on Steamdb I guess PS5 is going to have a total of four exclusives including Demon's Souls? Though the Nvidia leak also indicated that DeS would be coming to PC as well so uh, man, not a lot there for being a year and a half in.

Weren't Trish and Prosciutto already confirmed? I was surprised to not see them in this initial batch of new characters.

Haven't looked into the song list but it sounds like this has all the songs and dlc from the Switch version included in the base game, then there's additional dlc that adds most (all?) of the missing songs from the console release of Future Tone.

There's even a new option to switch the graphics to the arcade style so this is basically an official release of Future Tone for PC at this point!

This exactly. This was my first time with one of these types of games and I started to worry too much about min-maxing and kind of ruined the experience for myself. Just take it easy and enjoy.

Practice until I get it or check online if I'm still confused about something. (Usually through message boards and not videos, though.)

A little surprised that "ignore" is winning - that seems like a really quick road to having a bad time with a lot of games.

Watching some footage and this game looks way cooler than I expected it would. Characters look super unique! If there's a surplus of codes going around I'd definitely be happy to receive one, but for now I'm crossing my fingers that I get one if waves are still going out.

Saw it tonight - had high expectations after all the hype and was still blown away.

Elden Ring's open world is probably the best I've ever seen. Pretty much every single inch of the map is packed with surprises and wonder. Actually moving through the world is better in BotW but its map is incredibly uninteresting by contrast.

But honestly I have no earthly idea how anyone is expected to make it these days without considerable support from their parents. I'm about to turn 32 and have been living at home and saving this entire time - if I didn't have that I'd be renting for life at best, homeless at worst. Granted I'm sure California is worse than a lot of the country in this regard but national sentiment doesn't seem to be much better!

I've just got a G502, nothing too crazy. I map sprint and mount to the side buttons and keys work just fine for everything else.

It helps enormously to remap the keys so you never have to awkwardly stretch your hand or fingers, but if you don't often use M&K it'll still be a ton more buttons than you're used to pressing.

For reference my set up is three bars like this:

Then ctrl and shift to access the other rows. I've also got some smaller utility bars set up to the side with job change macro menus and such.

I've never heard of this so I looked it up. Wasn't expecting eroge! I'll definitely say the art looks completely gorgeous and not even just in a horn dog way.

Young Tuskur prequel would've been more exciting but this is the next best thing. I legit don't want any more sequels, the ending was too perfect.

Gotta wonder what kind of quality the localization will be, this company appears to be completely unproven and now both Atlus and NISA appear have to dropped this entire franchise like a hot potato. (Of course, that being the case, I'm happy we're getting it in English at all!)

It's actually generally a pretty great platform depending on who you follow - I mostly follow voice actors, indie game developers, filmmakers and a ton of artists and it's pretty much strictly been a positive presence in my life.

This is great that we're getting a decent collection of these that isn't just running in a cheap background emulator, but man any sign of passion for this is really marred by that putrid Ubisoft version chart they put out.

Yeah, I used to be in the "well, you could also just start from the beginning" camp but almost nobody is going to play vanilla 1 or 2 these days and the remakes are 100% set up as sequels to 0. It really has become the perfect entry point.

So with all the huge changes to MSQ roulette, has the exp rewards for the various options changed? Didn't see anything about that in the patch notes and haven't heard anything elsewhere. Was hoping they'd take this chance to delete it entirely and give level cap roulette meaningful rewards but I guess that didn't happen. :(

Yakuza 0 is straight up one of the best games I've ever played and is an insane steal at that price. Definitely check it out if you've never experienced this series before!

I haven't played nearly as much of 2 and 3 as I did the original but I kind of can't help but marvel at the raw passion of this dude and his increasingly amazing art/music team just continuously refining this experience way beyond what I ever thought it could be.

I desperately hope this game achieves sleeper hit status some day because gat damn does it deserve it. Absolutely brilliant buried gem.

I feel weird hearing the discourse on NPC quests in this game because I kinda feel like they're the easiest and most straightforward to manage without outside help that From has made with the exception of maybe Sekiro. Really the only complication is that it's a totally massive world so you can kind of just not find someone if they wander away, but a lot of npcs will have a lingering dialogue option specifically to say "hey go check this place out" which is way more direct than they've generally ever been with Souls games.

It is indeed confirmed to be using the same engine as Control.

Control looked absolutely phenomenal (still to this date the game that blew me away the most with its ray tracing) but it'll be interesting to see how the engine handles the grimy streets of New York compared with Control's hyper-sterile and bureaucratic environments.

Max Payne 1/2 tone and writing mixed with Max Payne 3 gameplay with no modern AAA fuckabouts would probably be the final word on the entire genre of shooters for me. Doubt we'll get something truly that perfect, but I'll be excited to see whatever this is, whenever it comes out.

I still play long games about as much, but I've found I'm far more critical of that length than I used to be. Like I'm totally down to drop 100+ hours on Elden Ring with zero complaints but if it's something like GTA5 or especially Ubisoft games where there's just a ton of padding and the scope isn't truly justified, I'm going to be much more harsh and likely to drop it.

The Special Editions on Steam are excellent - though IIRC you do need to do a bit of modding to get the new voices to work with the original graphics for the first game. I believe the second game already lets you use that combo with no extra fuss.

Agreed with the post above that this is more than a sum of its parts - and most of its parts are pretty damn incredible! I legit can't imagine any video game achieving what this game has in long form storytelling, it's a true masterpiece and a damn shame that even now there are so many people passing it over because it's an MMO.

Man Kaiten is like, my favorite button on Samurai. I get that it's pretty much extraneous but the animation from Kaiten -> Iai is probably legit the most buttery bit of animation in the entire game and I always loved the idea of a dedicated flourish button. :(

This is the foundation of Sony's biggest gaming business paradigm shift of the last couple generations. It's why you're seeing God of War, Horizon, Uncharted and very soon much more of their first party efforts on PC.
